Updating Indian contingency plan

The Oil Spill Training Company undertook a consulting project to re-develop the offshore exploration oil spill contingency plan for Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC). GSPC is a rapidly developing Indian energy company, committed to achieve a high level of environmental performance.

We were delighted to be chosen by GSPC for this work, recognising our ability to deliver cost-effective plans to a high standard. The project was driven by expansion of exploratory drilling activities on the Krishna Godavari Basin and GSPC’s desire to align their contingency plan with international formats and approaches.

The plan was prepared in line with international guidelines produced by the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA). It integrates with the Indian National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan (NOS-DCP) and thereby meets local and national legislative requirements.
