Oil Spill Response Planning for the Turkish Black Sea

The Oil Spill Training Company Ltd. was contacted by BP to help them develop an oil spill response plan for exploration activities in the Eastern Black Sea (in Turkish waters). The plan was produced in line with international standards but integrates within the national and regional framework, including consideration of trans-boundary issues. This project was undertaken to a very tight deadline but we still managed to meet the client's requirements.

BP is operator for the exploration project in a joint venture with TPAO (the Turkish national oil and gas company). This exploration is regarded as having great importance in determining the oil and gas potential of Turkish sector of the Black Sea.
