Chevron Marine Terminal Courses

Chevron operate a number of marine terminals around the coast of the UK. A range of oil products are imported through these terminals and include light fuel oils, lubricating oils and aviation fuel; one site deals solely in Heavy Fuel Oil. Most of the installations are located near centres of population and adjacent to environmentally sensitive areas. Chevron are keen to ensure that their operations have minimal impact on the environment and therefore, have rigorous procedures in place to deal swiftly with any accidental release of oil.

Each terminal has an Oil Spill Contingency Plan in place and ensuring that staff have the competencies required to deal with incidents, is a vital element of the process. The Oil Spill Training Company Ltd were contracted to present a series of one and two day training courses for seven of the marine terminals. The courses were designed to meet the syllabus of the UK Oil Spill Training Standards and included theory sessions in the classroom followed by practical equipment deployment exercises.
