The Oil Spill Training Company ensures that we are aware of any key developments in our field. Therefore we were delighted to attend this workshop, which included presentations on recent advancements from recognised specialists in the field of oil-in-ice detection systems, the latest laboratory and field tests and improvements to oil-in-ice recovery technology. There is increasing interest in response to spills in cold climates, as exploration and production moves into higher latitudes.

Over 250 people attended the workshop, representing nine countries and making the workshop truly international. This workshop is anticipated to be a regular forum for presentations and discussions concerning key research, operational and logistical issues relating to accidental spills from oil exploration and development in ice-affected environments.
