John Ostergaard and Richard Tatner join our expanding team

We are delighted to welcome John Ostergaard and Richard Tatner to our team, both will be starting with us on August 1, 2006. This greatly expands our capacity and, with over 100 years of cumulative oil spill experience in-house, extends the range of services we offer.

John Ostergaard

John Ostergaard, a Master Mariner, started his distinguished career serving on oil tankers before leaving to join the Royal Danish Navy. He later joined the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, Marine Division as Head of Section. His most recent role was with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) where he acted as the Senior Advisor on Marine Pollution. His extensive experience of serving on the Marine Environment Protection Committee and the Maritime Safety Committee coupled with his advisory role on the national implementation of MARPOL 73/78, OPRC 1990, OPRC-HNS 2000, CLC 1992, FUND 1992, Salvage, and Intervention Conventions makes him a respected international authority on marine pollution issues.

Richard Tatner

Richard Tatner has attended over 50 oil spills worldwide, acting as Spill Response Manager for a large number of these incidents. Previously, he held several roles at Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) in the UK, most recently as Response Manager. Richard had overall responsibly for the development and implementation of spill management processes and procedures to ensure the technical quality of the organizations’ response services. However, Richards experience goes far beyond the response to incidents and includes delivering training courses, development of contingency plans, conducting preparedness reviews and carrying out a wide range of studies.
