Caspian Sea - Black Sea - Central Eurasia Project

Peter Taylor continues his role as manager of an international oil industry programme to develop effective oil spill preparedness in the Caspian Sea, Black Sea and Central Eurasia regions. Eight companies (Agip KCO, BG Group, BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, Statoil and Total), members of the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA), have formed the Oil Spill Preparedness Regional Initiative (OSPRI) to work cooperatively with governments with the overall aim to promote proven, credible, integrated and sustainable oil spill response capability in the region.

Peter was previously employed as manager of a comprehensive regional study that assessed the situation and, in February 2003, delivered a series of recommendations to be implemented over a five year period. OSPRI is the organization and network which has been established to address these recommendations. The Oil Spill Training Company Limited is pleased to be providing the management and technical expertise to ensure this aligned industry effort achieves its goals, thereby contributing to environmental protection in an area of increasing importance for global oil supply.
